FEBRUARY 12 FIST BIG TEST.

Hello From the Grand Holiday in Sochi. Big day today. We will see how well we swim with the sharks in the water. Canada at 4:30 Sochi time 7:30am Eastern time. I think we are ready but I'm just a paying customer with a bios opinion. A few of us went to the couples figure skating competition last night and it was a good time. A little different from watching hockey, just different athletes with the same goals and aspirations of our girls. Every night when we stop off at the P&G house they have a bunch of tickets for different events that they give away. The face value of all the event tickets are majorly inflated, which makes it difficult to purchase these tickets.  Thank you P & G.  Great weather today sun is up and it looks like we will hit the mid 50's again. Feels like 75 coming from home though. I understand more snow is in the forecast for our family and friends back in Western Massachusetts. Lets put the girls in your thoughts today and bring that positive Karma. I will give a post game later. Bye for now and thank you for your interest.


Just thought we would add some of our money headaches around here.  Russian Rubles are very strange to deal with vs. US money. Parting with a $1000.00 bill is a little odd....but it is only worth $36.00.  A $10.00 bill is worth .33 cents.  I wish someone told Maura this before hand because she gave the cab driver $30.00 for a tip when we arrived and that was like giving him $1.00.  May have been why he sped away as soon as she gave it to him.  Also, the boat is all in Euro money.  So when you purchase a bottle of water it says 4.50 but it is actually 6.25 or so American.  So, needless to say the boat is very expensive for things outside of what you have included with your room.  Maura is up in the room doing laundry because we were going to send some to be cleaned but it is $2.50 to clean 1 pair of socks!!!  Maura was pretty hard on me about bringing 17 pair of underwear, but I think that was the right decision.
